Envelope Gaskets

  • Envelope gaskets, also known as PTFE envelope gaskets, consist of a PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene) outer shell encasing a soft, compressible core material, often made of rubber or elastomer.
  • The PTFE outer layer provides excellent chemical resistance, while the core material provides flexibility and sealing capabilities.
  • Envelope gaskets are commonly used in applications involving corrosive chemicals or high temperatures.
  • This gasket design prevents PTFE creep and cold flow
  • Typical materials: PTFE/Teflon® with EPDM or FKM/Viton™ filler
  • Sizes available: 1/2” up to 12”
